The officers of the Bauchi State Police Command have arrested a 60-year-old man, Musa Garba, for the alleged defilement of a nine-year-old girl in Magama Gumau, Toro Local Government Area of the state
The command’s spokesperson, CSP Nafiu Habib, disclosed this in a statement made available to journalists on Thursday.
According to the statement, the case was reported at the Toro Divisional Police Headquarters on Friday by the father of the victim.
Habib said the complainant, aged 47, alleged that his daughter was lured into a hideout by the suspect on May 7, 2026, at about 4pm.
“The report was received at the Toro Division on 8th May 2026. The father of the victim reported that his daughter was lured into a hideout on 7th May 2026 at about 1600hrs by one Musa Garba, also of the same address,” the statement read.
He added that detectives attached to the division swiftly arrested the suspect following the complaint.
