The Federal maximum security prison in Oko, Edo state has been bombed by suspected criminals today.
The prison was attacked at about 1:40 am with sophisticated weapons. It is assumed that the suspected gunmen attacked the prison to rescue some of their friends that have been condemned to death.
Six of the eight inmates escaped while the other two were apprehended.
