The people of Ibadan, Oyo State, have reiterated their call for the creation of an ‘Ibadan State’ to the Federal GovernmentCreation of ‘Ibadan State’ is long overdue – Indigenes tell Tinubu

Speaking at a press conference to mark the 20th anniversary of Legacy Stars of Ibadan, a club under the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), President Mogaji Saheed Oyewale emphasized that the demand for a separate state is long overdue.

He highlighted that various steps have been taken to achieve this goal, which is the top priority for the people of Ibadan.

Oyewale urged the government to address the pressing issues of land grabbing and encourage agricultural development.

He stressed that despite Ibadan’s significance, no indigene has been recognized with a terminal naming, and the selection of government representatives should be revisited.

The key demands include:

– Creation of Ibadan State

– Addressing land grabbing

– Encouraging agriculture through policy initiatives and land reservation for developmental projects

The people of Ibadan are eager for the Tinubu-led administration to heed their calls and take concrete steps towards achieving these goals.
