The Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr. Ola Olukoyede, has called on Nigerians to demonstrate their commitment to the fight against corruption by fully embracing the government’s whistle-blowing policy
Speaking in Abuja on Thursday, July 11, 2024, Olukoyede emphasized that corruption poses a significant threat to humanity, second only to terrorism, and requires a collective effort to combat it effectively.
He stressed that the whistle-blowing initiative is a crucial tool in this fight, but it requires commitment, passion, consistency, and credible intelligence.
Ola Olukoyede urged whistleblowers to provide truthful and evidence-based information, assuring them of protection and confidentiality.
The EFCC has established the Eagle Eye app as a reporting device for corruption, and whistleblowers can also contact the commission through mail, phone, or personal visits.
Olukoyede acknowledged the crucial role whistleblowers play in exposing corruption and assured them of the EFCC’s support and protection.
He encouraged Nigerians to join hands in the fight against corruption, emphasizing that it is a collective responsibility that requires more than just lip service or emotional outbursts.
By working together, Nigeria can effectively tackle corruption and ensure a safer and more prosperous future for all.
