The Bauchi State Police Command has arrested a 23-year-old man, Aliyu Suleman, found in possession of 64 bottles of Methylene Chloride, locally known as “Suck and D!e”
Suleman, a resident of Tudun Salmanu area of Bauchi, was arrested on Tuesday during an intelligence-led operation at Bayan Gari in the Bauchi metropolis.
Police spokesperson, Nafiu Habib, disclosed the arrest in a statement on Wednesday.
According to the command, operatives of the Vehicle Crime Response Unit intercepted the suspect at about 5 p.m. and recovered the substances during a search.
“The suspect was intercepted during a routine intelligence-led operation. Upon search, the following exhibits were promptly recovered from the suspect: 64 bottles containing Methylene Chloride, locally referred to as ‘Suck and Die’, and 17 pieces of Rubber Solutions,” the statement said.
Police said the recovered substances had been seized and registered as exhibits.
The command added that Suleman remained in custody and was cooperating with investigators.
“He will be charged to court upon the conclusion of the investigation,” police said.
