Aston Villa has confirmed the signing of Amadou Onana from Everton for a £50 million transfer fee, with the Belgian midfielder committing to a contract until 2029

Onana, 22, is highly regarded and was sought after by various clubs in England and abroad, but Villa’s Champions League spot played a crucial role in securing his signature.
He will likely fill the void left by Douglas Luiz, who joined Juventus, with Samuel Illing-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea moving to Villa as part of the deal.
Amadou Onana, a defensive midfielder, has immense potential for growth with regular Champions League exposure.
He joins Ian Maatsen, Cameron Archer, Ross Barkley, and Lewis Dobbin as part of Villa’s ambitious summer signings, strengthening their squad for the upcoming season.
Onana’s squad number will be announced soon.
