Nigerian-South African beauty queen Chidimma Adetshina recently shared her personal struggles in the pageantry world during an interview on the ‘Big Friday Show‘ with Big Brother Naija star Tacha.

She spoke about how having dual citizenship has caused her to face identity challenges.

Chidimma revealed that her dream of becoming Miss Universe inspired her to pursue pageantry as a full-time career.

“I think it’s something I started recently; however, I’ve had this dream since 2017 to become the next Miss Universe. I’m really glad I have been given the platform and the opportunity to at least try and reach that goal,” she said.

She also opened up about how her identity struggles have affected her personally.

“It has been a long journey. It has been so hard, I won’t lie. There were times when I would cry myself to sleep and think, ‘Why me? I want it to end.’ But I’ve learned to focus on the positive side when facing such difficulties. I had to change my mindset and believe that maybe even more greatness is coming,” she shared.

This interview comes after Chidimma withdrew from the Miss South Africa pageant due to allegations from the South African Home Office that her mother was involved in fraud and identity theft.

She also faced significant backlash from South Africans when she was announced as a contestant.

After her withdrawal, the Silverbird Group, organizers of the Miss Universe Nigeria pageant, invited her to participate, and she accepted the offer.

  1. Happy birthday to the celebrant and I pray Almighty God favor her in all her endeavors

I am Taiwo, a student at National open university and a contact staff at Radio Lagos / Ekofm and my passionate interest to be the winner of this giveaway was to make sure I develop my skills as a Brand designer which I started earlier this year but I am struggling to really fund the necessary training and upgrade my device “Laptop” so I can have a suit and better training experience

I will be so glad and really grateful if I am favorably considered to win this and it will be a huge success for me on my career journey.

Once again, happy birthday to you Ma’am
