The brothers had been estranged for years, but were brought back together following the death of their mother.

A video captured the moment the siblings reunited at Kunle Afolayan’s film village in Komu, Oyo State.

The video showed the brothers sitting together, chatting with friends who had gathered for their mother’s burial rites.

In a moment during their mother’s wake, Aremu Afolayan apologized to Kunle for past grievances, including a highly publicized Instagram rant that had aired their dirty laundry.

Aremu was visibly emotional, breaking down in tears as he sought forgiveness from his elder brother.

Following their reconciliation, Kunle Afolayan shared his thoughts in a light-hearted video. The filmmaker jokingly asserted that he is not just Aremu’s brother, but also his father, given their 10-year age gap and his role in fostering Aremu.

Kunle Afolayan playfully faulted Aremu’s female friends for indulging him and driving a wedge between the brothers. Speaking in Yoruba, Kunle said, “I am not his brother, I am his father, I was the one that fostered him. I am 10 years older than him, I am his father. You, his female friends are the ones trying to tear us apart.”
