Police take over Sanusi's palace

Police has taken over the palace of Emir of Kano, Emir Muhammadu Sanusi II

According to unconfirmed reports, it was gathered that the Emir was supposed to address some economists on the issue of the tax reforms bills.

Police vehicles blocked entrance into the palace as of the time of filing this report.

Lots of thugs were prevented entrance to the palace, as gunshots from the police rented the air.

The Emir is said to have left the palace.

Daily Trust reports that the confusion may also be unconnected with the Emir’s planned trip to Bichi town as his chief of Staff, Munnir Sanusi, assumes as district head, the first time since dissolution of the emirate.

Kano has been enmeshed in an emirship tussle since Sanusi was reinstated in May.
