Media personality, Gbemi Olateru Olagbegi has called out pastor’s daughters for retaining their fathers name after marriage

She specifically called out the daughters of prominent Nigerian pastors, David Oyedepo and Paul Eneche, for retaining their fathers’ names after marriage.
Gbemi questioned the double standard, highlighting how women from less affluent backgrounds are often expected to adopt their husbands’ names as a sign of submission.
She wondered why the same expectation does not apply to women from more influential families.
“I wan find small trouble Love Oyedepo became – Love Oyedepo Ogah (added her husband’s name) Deborah Eneche became – Deborah Eneche Hawthorn (added her husband’s name). But if another pesin do am, e go turn ‘she’s not submissive’. Abii na only poor people suppose dey submissive’?
