Dare Akapo, the man in the viral video shouting at Wizkid to recognize him, has finally spoken out about the incident
In a lengthy explanation, Akapo revealed that he and Wizkid were friends back in 2009 during their university days.
Akapo shared fond memories of their time together, including studying for assignments and helping Wizkid with his schoolwork. He also mentioned that Wizkid would often ask him to mark his attendance in class, as he was more focused on his music career.
Akapo clarified that his intention in shouting at Wizkid was not to beg for money or seek clout, but rather to reconnect with an old friend and potentially seek help to improve his life. He acknowledged that Wizkid is now doing better and that he would gladly accept any offer of help.
Akapo expressed disappointment at how the incident was misinterpreted by others and appreciated the courage it took for him to come forward and set the record straight. He hopes that Wizkid will see the video and reach out to him, allowing them to reconnect and rekindle their friendship.
