In a conversation with her sister-in-law, James encouraged women to prioritize closeness with their spouses, even during periods of fatigue. She stressed that intimacy isn’t just about physical connection, but also about emotional bonding that strengthens the marriage over time.
“Sometimes you’re so tired you don’t want anyone near you,” she admitted. “But don’t deny your husband sex—it’s real. There are days he might look like he’ll go cry in the bathroom. My sister, just lie down and open your legs; you don’t even need to do anything. Just make the crooked way straight.”
James also emphasized the importance of honest communication, suggesting that women should speak with tenderness and understanding when they’re genuinely too exhausted to engage.
“On days when you’re not entirely drained, you just have to know how to express it gently so he understands you’re tired too,” she said.
