An explosion occurred Monday afternoon along the Mararaba-Nyanya bypass in Abuja, injuring one person
According to a statement from Josephine Adeh, spokesperson for the Federal Capital Territory Police Command, the blast happened around 2:50 pm. Officers from the Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Unit were quickly dispatched to the scene following the report.
The area was promptly cordoned off to allow for safe clearance and analysis, ensuring the safety of commuters and nearby residents. A male victim was rescued and taken to the hospital, where he is currently receiving medical treatment.
Adeh confirmed that a thorough investigation, including forensic analysis, is underway to determine the cause and nature of the explosion.
The FCT Police Command urged the public to stay calm and continue their daily activities without fear.
