Emir of Kano, Muhammadu Sanusi II, has accused supporters of the deposed 15th Emir, Aminu Ado Bayero, of launching an attack on the Kofar-Kudu Palace and forcefully removing one of its gates

The allegation was made in a statement released by the Kano Emirate Media Team and signed by Sadam Yakasai. According to the statement, the incident occurred as Bayero’s convoy passed near the palace, where Sanusi currently resides.
“They broke the gate and attacked the palace guards, injuring some of them. They also damaged police vehicles within the premises,” the statement claimed.
The Emirate further alleged that Bayero intentionally passed through the palace road instead of using the proper route from Koki to Nassarawa, accusing him of trying to provoke tension.
“This isn’t the first time he has taken this route,” the statement added. “He did the same after visiting his Mandawari residence, clearly aiming to intimidate the people in the area.”
The incident adds to the ongoing tension surrounding the Kano emirship, which has remained a source of political and public controversy since Bayero’s removal and Sanusi’s reinstatement.
