A senior lecturer at Kogi State University, Anyigba, Dr. Olabode Abimbola Ibikunle, has d!ed in a hotel room following an alleged s8xual encounter with a 22-year-old female student
The incident reportedly occurred on Tuesday, July 15, and was reported to the Anyigba Police Division, which arrested the student for questioning.
Dr. Ibikunle, a married man with children, was said to be notorious for s8xually exploiting female students in exchange for grades.
Sources claim he checked into the hotel with the student, a 200-level Social Studies Education major, after consuming multiple energy drinks, allegedly in preparation for the encounter.
Tragically, he collapsed and d!ed during the act.
The Kogi State Police Command confirmed the incident, describing it as unfortunate. Command spokesperson SP William Ovye Aya told SaharaReporters that the student has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) for further investigation and possible prosecution.
Aya said the case was reported on July 16 by the hotel manager, Moses Friday, who informed police that the student had rushed to the reception, saying the lecturer had slumped after s8x.
Police responded immediately, and the lecturer was taken to a hospital, where he was confirmed d8ad by a doctor.
An autopsy has been carried out, though the results are yet to be disclosed.
