Governor Adeleke endorses Tinubu for 2027 Election

Governor Ademola Adeleke of Osun State and leaders of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in the state have thrown their support behind President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid in 2027

During a high-level stakeholders meeting held in Osogbo, Adeleke, along with his deputy Kola Adewusi, former Governor Olagunsoye Oyinlola, Senator Lere Oyewumi, PDP Chairman Sunday Bisi, and other party leaders, reaffirmed their loyalty to the PDP while backing Tinubu, whom they described as “a son of the soil.”

In a communique issued after the meeting, the party resolved to support both Tinubu’s second-term ambition and Adeleke’s re-election in 2026.

The statement read in part:
“We reaffirm our unwavering loyalty to the PDP and the Adeleke administration. We also affirm that President Bola Tinubu, being a proud indigene of Osun State, has our support for his re-election come 2027.”

This development comes amid growing speculation about Adeleke’s political alignment, with rumours of a possible defection to the APC. However, the governor and the party leadership emphasized their commitment to the PDP while endorsing Tinubu’s leadership at the national level.
