Manchester United forward Marcus Rashford has completed a season-long loan move to Spanish giants Barcelona
The 27-year-old England international joins the La Liga club on an initial 12-month deal, with Barcelona holding an option to make the move permanent for £30.3 million (€35 million) in 2026.
As part of the agreement, Rashford has taken a pay cut, with Barcelona set to cover his full wages during the loan spell. The move is expected to save United between £14 million and £15 million over the next year.
Rashford trained with his new teammates for the first time on Tuesday and is expected to be named in Barcelona’s squad for their upcoming pre-season tour of Asia, which begins with a trip to Japan on Thursday.
This marks Rashford’s second loan spell and his first time playing outside the Premier League since making his United debut in 2016.
He leaves Old Trafford, at least temporarily, having scored 138 goals in 426 appearances — placing him 15th on the club’s all-time scorers list. A product of United’s academy, Rashford has been one of the most high-profile figures in English football over the past decade.
