Former Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, has honored the invitation of the Department of State Services (DSS) over an attack on his convoy in Kebbi State
It is reported that Malami’s convoy came under attack by suspected political thugs in Birnin Kebbi on September 1, 2025, shortly after he returned from a condolence visit to the family of the late Chief Imam of Dr. Bello Haliru Jumu’ah Mosque.
In a Facebook post, Malami confirmed that he had responded to the DSS invitation to assist with their investigation.
“I can confirm that I have been invited by the Department of State Services, DSS, to support investigation over the attack on my person and convoy in Kebbi State on the 1st of September, 2025,” he wrote.
Malami alleged that the petition prompting the DSS inquiry was orchestrated by opposition political figures in the state.
He, however, praised the DSS for the professional and transparent manner in which the investigation was carried out, adding, “I was treated with dignity and respect, and I remain committed to cooperating fully with the Department to ensure that their investigation is concluded successfully.”
