Comedian, DeeOne has kick-started an attempt to set a new Guinness World Record for the longest stand-up comedy performance
He announced in September that his record attempt had received official approval from Guinness World Records (GWR). He kicked off the ambitious 40-hour comedy marathon on Thursday, October 2, at midnight in Opebi, Ikeja, Lagos State.
Sharing updates during the marathon, DeeOne wrote: “39 hours in. We are closing in on the world record. We are also closer to our goal.”
The record attempt is being closely monitored, with officials and a visible timer ensuring that Guinness World Records standards are met.
Clips from the marathon have circulated on social media, showing DeeOne performing tirelessly for a live audience while officials track the hours.
