The Department of State Services (DSS) has arrested two dismissed officers, Barry Donald and Victor Onyedikachi Godwin, who allegedly impersonated DSS operatives to defraud unsuspecting citizens
In a statement on Wednesday, the agency said it had earlier warned the public that the duo were no longer in its service but had continued to pose as active personnel.
“The public is hereby notified that these culprits have been apprehended and will face prosecution in accordance with the law,” the DSS stated.
The agency added that it would soon publish the names of other dismissed personnel to prevent further cases of impersonation and fraud involving individuals misusing the DSS identity.
Reaffirming its commitment to professionalism, transparency, and accountability, the Service urged Nigerians to stay vigilant and report suspicious persons or activities.
