The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has suspended its two-week warning strike, which began last week across public universities nationwide
The suspension was announced on Wednesday during a press conference at the union’s national secretariat in Abuja.

ASUU President, Chris Piwuna, said the decision came after the intervention of the Senate and other concerned Nigerians who appealed for dialogue.
He added that the union’s National Executive Council (NEC) has decided to give the federal government a one-month grace period to address the outstanding issues that led to the strike.
