The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a reduction in the 2026 Hajj fares for pilgrims nationwide, marking a significant drop from the 2025 rates
Pilgrims from the Borno and Adamawa zones will now pay N7,579,020.96, down from N8,327,125.59 in 2025, a decrease of N748,104.63.

Those from the Northern Zone will pay N7,696,769.76, a reduction of N760,915.83 from last year’s N8,457,685.59. For the Southern Zone, the fare is now N7,991,141.76, down N792,943.83 from N8,784,085.59 in 2025.
NAHCON, in a photostatement shared on X on Monday, said the fare adjustments are aimed at making the pilgrimage more affordable for Nigerian Muslims ahead of the 2026 Hajj.
The commission also set December 5, 2025, as the new payment deadline for all intending pilgrims, urging them to complete payments by this date to ensure smooth processing and participation. For more details, the public is advised to visit NAHCON’s official website at www.nahcon.gov.ng.
Earlier reports by PUNCH Online revealed that President Bola Tinubu, through his Deputy Chief of Staff, Sen. Ibrahim Hadeija, had directed NAHCON to immediately lower the 2026 Hajj fares. The agency had initially announced the approved fares in September 2025.
