Embattled Paystack Co-founder and Chief Technology Officer, Ezra Olubi, has been dismissed from the company amid public allegations that he engaged in sexual relations with a junior staff member.

Olubi confirmed the termination on Saturday, noting that it occurred before the company completed its investigation into claims of sexual harassment against him.

Reports indicate the controversy surfaced in mid-November when a social media post accused Olubi of abusive conduct, prompting users to uncover a series of explicit tweets from his past.

Following the allegations, Paystack suspended Olubi and launched a formal investigation, stating it had set up a review process and planned to appoint an independent investigator.

In his statement, Olubi said he was not given a chance to respond to the allegations before his contract was terminated. He argued that the dismissal seemed to violate both the terms of his suspension and the company’s internal policies.

“My legal team is now reviewing the process that led to my purported termination, including its consistency with internal policies. They will take the steps they consider appropriate, and I will not be commenting further on this matter at this time,” Olubi said.
