A Bulawayo, Zimbabwe food outlet was temporarily shut on Monday morning following the sudden de.ath of a customer while waiting for his food order
Authorities are yet to confirm the identity and age of the man who collapsed inside the premises.
According to eyewitnesses who spoke to The Chronicle, the customer was sitting at the outlet when he suddenly slumped.
Employees were alerted after another patron noticed that he was motionless and sitting in an awkward position.
Emergency services were contacted, but the man was pronounced de.ad at the scene.
Detectives from the Criminal Investigations Department’s Homicide division were also called to the scene and reportedly carried out an initial assessment of the incident.
The body remained inside the outlet as of 9:45 AM, while other patrons continued to be served through the main entrance.
Police have yet to release details regarding the cause of death. The authorities are expected to release an official statement soon.
