Popular preacher Apostle Arome Osayi has spoken publicly about the kidnapping and de.ath of his brother, recounting how the tragedy tested his faith but did not break him
Speaking during a recent sermon, Apostle Arome narrated how his brother was abducted by terrorists, how the family paid a heavy ransom running into millions, and how they were later called to pick up his body in the forest after he d!ed in captivity.
According to him, nothing prepares a person for such pain, yet he held onto Scripture to stay emotionally balanced.
In his words:
“My brother got kidnapped, he d!ed in captivity after we had paid heavy ransom in millions… collected the money and they now called us to come and collect the corpse. I hope you know nothing hurts like that and then you see your own brother’s body de.ad in the forest. I hope you know nothing hurts like that.”
He explained that despite the shock, he refused to break down emotionally.
“Ask my wife, I never shed a tear, not because I wasn’t emotionally attached to him, but because I know the Scriptures. If you know the Scriptures, you will never allow yourself slip into excessive grieve or excessive excitement. You will stay in between.”
Apostle Arome said he made a deliberate decision not to let the tragedy overwhelm him spiritually.
“So yes, I didn’t shed a tear because I didn’t want to give Satan an opportunity to preach to me. And we are still here, we have not broken down. Your life flows in the direction of your most predominant thoughts.”
