The trial of Nigerian punter Benjamin Best, popularly known as Killaboi, accused of k!lling social media influencer Augusta Onuwabhagbe, is set to commence on Thursday, January 15, 2026
Augusta’s mother, Cordelia Okonye, shared the news on her Instagram stories, inviting the public to attend the hearing at the High Court, Tafawa Balewa Square, Lagos.

She wrote alongside a photo of Killaboi in handcuffs: “His trial begins this Thursday 15th January 2026 @ The High Court in the TBS by 9am. Come please and listen to the killer of my daughter.”
In another post featuring a picture of herself with her late daughter, she added: “If you love us, kindly join us at the High Court at TBS Island on Thursday 15th Jan to listen to the killer.”

Killaboi is accused of m3rdering 21-year-old Augusta Onuwabhagbe, a first-class student of Lead City University, at his residence in Ajah, Lagos, on July 13, 2023. Following the incident, he fled the country and was declared wanted by Nigerian authorities.
He was later arrested in Qatar in February 2025 and subsequently extradited to Nigeria in April 2025 through coordinated efforts involving the Nigerian Police Force, the Ministry of Justice, INTERPOL, and Qatari authorities.
The trial is expected to attract significant attention from the public and Augusta’s family, who are seeking justice for her untimely d3ath.
