Kingsley Okonkwo has sparked conversation after candidly reflecting on how his wife helped him understand emotional expression in their relationship.
Sharing his experience from their early dating days, he admitted that he did not naturally express love in the way she expected.
“My wife had to teach me how to love her. When we were dating, if I saw her on a Monday, I wouldn’t call her again until I was seeing her next. She practically told me, ‘See, you have to be calling me.’ I grew up in a family of five boys; the only female in the family was my mom, and she is a soldier, not an average Nigerian woman, so I didn’t have the emotional stuff.”
The pastor explained that his upbringing shaped his reserved nature, but learning from his wife transformed his understanding of love and communication in marriage.
