Ogun State Police Command has vowed to take the proper action in the alleged ra.pe case involving TikTok creator Mirabel.
The case gained national attention after a video of Mirabel claiming she was sexually assaulted in her home went viral on social media. She reported the incident at the Ibafo Police Station and was subsequently referred to the Ogijo Police Division for further investigation.
Speaking in a phone interview with Channels TV, the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, Oluseyi Babaseyi said the matter would be thoroughly investigated. He stated that if Mirabel’s allegations are confirmed, the alleged perpetrator will be arrested and prosecuted.
However, he warned that if the claims are proven false, Mirabel could face legal consequences for making a false report.
“if mirabel is found telling the truth, the perpetrator will be arrested and prosecuted but if it is a false alarm. She will face the law ”, he said.
Authorities have urged anyone with credible information about the incident to come forward to assist with the ongoing investigation.
