President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has nominated Taiwo Oyedele for appointment as Minister of State for Finance, replacing Dr Doris Anite-Uzoka
In a separate move, Anite-Uzoka has been reassigned to the Ministry of Budget and National Planning as Minister of State, marking her third role within the current administration.

The President formally transmitted Oyedele’s nomination to the Senate for screening and confirmation through a letter addressed to Senate President Godswill Akpabio.
Before this nomination, Oyedele served as chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, where he played a key role in restructuring Nigeria’s tax framework. A native of Ikaram in Akoko, Ondo State, the 50-year-old is widely regarded as an economist, accountant and public policy specialist.
He earned a Higher National Diploma in Accountancy and Finance from Yaba College of Technology and later obtained a BSc in Applied Accounting from Oxford Brookes University.
Oyedele also completed executive programmes at London School of Economics, Yale University, Gordon Institute of Business Science, and Harvard Kennedy School.
He spent over two decades at PwC, joining the firm in 2001 and rising to become Fiscal Policy Partner and Africa Tax Leader.
In addition to his corporate career, Oyedele lectures as a professor at Babcock University and serves as a visiting scholar at Lagos Business School.
