Eno, the wife of popular Nigerian pastor Jerry Eze, has sparked conversation online after sharing her views on respect and submission in relationships, especially among younger women.
Speaking during a counselling session, Eno Jerry Eze expressed concern about what she described as a growing attitude of disrespect toward men in some relationships.
According to her, submission is something she believes women should intentionally practice.
“Anything anybody want to tell you let them tell you but you see this one submission? We must submit ourselves as women. We must!”
Eno explained that in many counselling sessions she handles, she sometimes notices interactions between couples that worry her.
She noted that some young women often between the ages of 27 and 32 display open disrespect toward their partners even in the presence of a counsellor.
“I see w0men, young girls, 28, 27, 32 when I’m counselling them if you see the way they are eying the man, if you see the d!srespect in front of me…”
She also shared that she has witnessed women openly insult their partners during counselling.
“calling him ‘f00l!sh man’ in front of me, not behind me, and I look at them and I say if you can do this in my presence what will you be doing to him when you are alone?”
Her remarks have since stirred mixed reactions online.
While some people agree with her stance that women should show respect to their partners, others believe respect in relationships should be mutual between both men and women.
