The Inspector-General of Police, Olatunji Disu, on Tuesday paid a visit to victims injured in the recent improvised explosive device (IED) blasts who are currently receiving treatment at the University of Maiduguri Teaching Hospital
During his trip to Maiduguri, the police chief also inspected the scene of the explosion at the Monday Market to evaluate the situation firsthand.

He later held meetings at the Borno State Government House and the Borno State Police Command, where he reviewed current security operations and discussed ways to improve coordinated responses to emerging threats.
Disu expressed sympathy to those affected and their families, assuring residents that the Nigeria Police Force is fully committed to tracking down those behind the attacks and preventing further incidents.
He added that security across Maiduguri has been reinforced, with more personnel deployed, tighter surveillance systems in place, and joint security operations intensified to protect lives and maintain order.
