Adebowale Ogundoyin, the Speaker of Oyo State House of Assembly, has continued his guber race, declaring himself, the best person to succeed Governor Seyi Makinde in 2027
Ogundoyin made this declaration when he met prominent chieftains and leaders of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) from Ibadan today.
The meeting which was held at PDP Secretariat in Ibadan was attended by Deputy Chairman of PDP, Wasiu Adeleke, Chief Nureni Akanbi, Chief Ismaila Ashipa, Remi Ayoade, PDP South West Women leader, Alhaja Modinat Adedibu and Commissioner for Women Affairs, Mrs Toyin Balogun.
Ogundoyin was accompanied by prominent PDP leaders and stakeholders from Ibarapa geopolitical zone among whom are member representing Ibarapa North/Central, Hon. Peter Ojedokun, Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo, former House of Representatives Member, Yemi Taiwo, former Commissioner for Information and Culture, Hon. Moses Ojoawo, former Commissioner for Local Government, Hon. Funmilayo Orisadeyi and former Commissioner for Environment, Alh Majekodunmi Aborode.
Ogundoyin while addressing the gathering, noted that he has what it takes to succeed Makinde in 2027.
He emphasised the need for continuity, innovation and collective responsibility in advancing the gains of the current administration.
Ogundoyin appealed to PDP chieftains in Ibadanland to support him.
He added that his ambition is rooted in service, capacity, and a proven track record of leadership.
“I have come to consult, to listen, and to seek your support as critical stakeholders of our great party. Together, we can build on the progress already achieved by our amiable Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde and take Oyo State to greater heights”.
