Popular Nollywood actress Adunni Ade has spoken out after facing criticism online for attending a church event, despite being known as a practising Muslim
The actress was among guests at the Celestial Church of Christ, specifically at the King of Kings Cathedral in Iju, Lagos.
The occasion was a thanksgiving service marking the 60th birthday of Prince Dele Akinola, which was part of a larger week-long celebration.
Adunni caught attention the moment she arrived. Dressed in a modest white outfit, she made a graceful entrance, exchanging pleasantries with other guests as she was warmly ushered to her seat.
However, what seemed like a simple show of support quickly stirred conversation online.
Social media users began questioning her religious identity, wondering if her presence at the church meant she had converted to Christianity.
As the discussion gained momentum across platforms, Adunni has now decided to address the situation, stating: “Born and raised in a Muslim household, I still practice Islam.”
