A woman has tragically d!ed in horror scenes onboard a 17-hour Qantas flight to the US as police were called to the “sudden de.ath”
The unnamed female passenger reportedly d!ed mid-air during the overnight flight from New York to Auckland. It nationality of the deceased woman is currently unknown.
Police were called to meet the aircraft as it landed at the airport as part of standard protocol with these types of tragedies. An investigation has reportedly been launched into the woman’s death on behalf of the coroner.
Speaking to New Zeeland publication Stuff, Qantas confirmed a passenger had sadly died during the flight from the US city.
The spokesperson said: “Urgent assistance was provided by crew and doctors onboard but sadly they passed away.
“In line with standard procedure, emergency services met the aircraft as part of the response.”
