Actress, Bimbo Ademoye has fired back at critics accusing her of running fake giveaways, expressing frustration over insults and what she described as growing disrespect from some followers
The actress, who recently organised cash giveaways to appreciate fans, came under attack from some social media users who questioned the authenticity of the exercise and accused her of favoritism.
Reacting strongly, Bimbo made it clear that the initiative is funded entirely from her personal earnings, stressing that she is doing her best despite the harsh economic reality many Nigerians are facing.
”
While I understand that the economy is tough and a lot of us need money, I also understand that you guys love me dearly and have poured that love into watching this movie… so you feel you deserve the giveaway more than the next person.”
She explained that with over 5 million followers, it is impossible to satisfy everyone, adding that giving each person money would amount to an unrealistic ₦510 billion.
“I need you to understand that I’m only one person, there’s 5.1 million of you here! If I could, I’d give the money without stress to every single follower of mine, but that would be a total of 510 billion naira! I no get, my papa no get, my forefathers no get!”
Bimbo also addressed allegations of bias, noting that she deliberately prevents friends and family from participating to ensure fairness. Despite this, she said she has been bombarded with messages calling her giveaways fake and insulting her.
“Some people even came to my dm recently saying my giveaways are fake… one even called me ‘stingy goat’. I think that’s out of line!”
Clearly angered by the attacks, the actress warned that she does not tolerate disrespect, regardless of her status as a public figure.
“I do not do well with disrespect at all… we might kiki, catch cruise and all, but when you cross the line, I can be petty enough to find you, then we can handle it one on one!”
She insisted that she has given out millions quietly in the past and that the current giveaway is simply her way of having fun while appreciating her supporters.
“I’ve given out millions without a single soul knowing… Pls DO NOT play with me!! I have never a day in my life met or known anyone who has won my giveaway before they won it. Not once!”
Ending her message, Bimbo urged fans to be mindful of their actions and tone online, while announcing a winner and continuing the giveaway challenge.
