Nollywood actor Kunle Afod has spoken about a deeply emotional visit to veteran actress Iru Eshin in Ede, Osun State and what he found left him shaken.
Afod shared that he hadn’t seen the actress in a while, but when he finally decided to check on her, the situation he encountered was far from what he expected.
“After a long time, I decided to visit Mama Iru Eshin in Ede, Osun State… but what I met was heartbreaking,” he said.
According to him, heavy rainfall had badly damaged her home, leaving the veteran actress in a difficult and distressing condition. Seeing someone who has contributed so much to the industry now struggling clearly affected him.
“Her house has been destroyed by heavy rain. A woman who has given so much to people is now left with almost nothing. What a painful sight… what a pity.”
Using the moment to send a broader message, Afod encouraged Nigerians to show more care and support for one another especially for those who have paved the way in the entertainment industry.
“This is more than just a visit it’s a reminder that we need to check on our own, support one another, and not wait until it’s too late. If you can help in any way, please do. Little support can bring back hope.
This isn’t the first time Afod has stepped in to support veteran actors. He has previously visited respected figures like Kola Oyewo and Peter Fatomilola, earning praise for his consistent efforts to show care and appreciation.
For Afod, these gestures go beyond goodwill they reflect a belief that everyone will eventually grow old, and how people are remembered in those later years truly matters.
