The Federal Government has filed a 13-count charge at the Federal High Court in Abuja against individuals accused of plotting a coup against President Bola Tinubu
Those named among the suspects include a retired Major-General, a retired naval captain, a serving police inspector, and three other individuals.

This development follows the conclusion of investigations by Nigerian security agencies into an alleged plan to violently overthrow the Tinubu administration. Authorities had earlier reported that about 40 people were identified in connection with the alleged conspiracy.
According to the investigation findings, 16 military officers were arrested for alleged direct involvement, two civilians were picked up for reconnaissance roles, two others were allegedly recruited to help incite civil unrest as part of efforts to justify the coup, while five suspects were linked to suspected funding channels.
