Former President Goodluck Jonathan and ex-Anambra State Governor, Peter Obi, on Monday held a closed-door meeting as part of Obi’s ongoing political consultations ahead of the 2027 general elections

The ADC Vanguard, the mobilisation wing of the African Democratic Congress coalition, posted videos and pictures of the meeting on its X handle.
It described the discussions as “high-level” and focused on the possibility of opposition parties presenting a single presidential candidate.

“Goodluck Jonathan and Peter Obi are having high-level discussions about presenting one presidential candidate for the opposition parties,” it said.
The development comes against the backdrop of Obi’s ongoing political engagements across Nigeria amid talks of a presidential alliance with former Kano State governor, Rabiu Kwankwaso, both ADC chieftains.
