Former Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Maitama Tuggar, has secured the All Progressives Congress’ N50 million governorship nomination form ahead of the 2027 election in Bauchi State
A video circulating on Wednesday, shared by Imran Mohammed, who serves as Senior Special Assistant on New Media to APC National Chairman Nentawe Yilwatda, captured the moment Tuggar completed documentation and received the form from party officials.

Tuggar had earlier made his governorship ambition public, explaining that his entry into the race is intended to boost healthy competition within the party rather than trigger internal conflict.
“This is not just my ambition; it is a collective mission to move Bauchi State forward,” he said during a recent visit to the party secretariat in the state.
The former minister, who stepped down from his role in March 2026 following a directive by President Bola Tinubu requiring political appointees seeking elective positions to resign, emphasized that unity and loyalty to the party remain key pillars of his campaign.
He also assured party members that he would stand behind whoever emerges as the APC candidate, ruling out any possibility of legal disputes with fellow aspirants.
According to Tuggar, his decision to run is motivated by the urgent need to tackle pressing challenges in Bauchi State, including poverty, unemployment, insecurity, and shortcomings in education and healthcare.
