Social media personality English Alhaji has shared a troubling account of how he allegedly found himself in a direct video call with suspected armed men, an encounter he says left him deeply unsettled.
He explained that the incident happened in the afternoon when his phone rang unexpectedly. According to him, the attackers were able to reach him after retrieving his WhatsApp number from his publicly available Facebook page.
He described the moment he picked the call as surreal and frightening:
“Nigerians, yesterday in the afternoon, band!ts called me yesterday on a video call. On a video call, you can see the confidence. These guys are no longer hiding.
I was just sitting down my phone rang. My WhatsApp number is on my Facebook page. So they went there and took the number. I saw the band!t profile picture, immediately I picked the call, see me face to face with band!t. My heart nearly left my body.
But still I try calm myself. They asked me if I were a Christian or Muslim. I told them I’m Chris-Mus. They now said I should say something in Muslim. These guys were even speaking Yoruba, small small children.
These guys turned the camera and showed me ammun!t!on. Broski, these guys are not scared….”
English Alhaji said the interaction felt unusually bold, adding that the suspects appeared unafraid and even openly displayed weapons during the call, which heightened his fear and confusion throughout the exchange.
