A Court has ordered social commentator VeryDarkMan to pay a total of N30.5 million in damages to the wife of comedian Mr Jollof after being found liable for defamation
According to details attributed to the judgment, the court ruled that VeryDarkMan must pay N20 million as general damages and an additional N10 million as aggravated damages.
He is also required to pay N500,000 to cover the cost of litigation.
The ruling further states that he must retract the disputed post made about Mrs Jollof and publish a formal apology in two national newspapers within 14 days.
The judgment has been described in the report as a significant legal victory for Mrs Jollof, with the court reportedly affirming that the statements in question caused reputational harm and therefore warranted both financial compensation and a public retraction.
