Popular social media activist Martins Vincent Otse, widely known as VeryDarkMan(VDM), has reacted after presidential aide Bayo Onanuga reportedly called for legal action over an AI-generated audio linked to President Bola Tinubu.
The audio clip allegedly featured a voice resembling President Bola Tinubu admitting to being deliberately responsible for Nigeria’s insecurity for political advantage ahead of the 2027 elections.
Following reactions surrounding the recording, Onanuga, who serves as Special Adviser to President Tinubu on Information and Strategy, reportedly condemned the circulation of fake AI-generated content linked to the president and called for those responsible to be investigated.
Reacting in a video, VDM criticised Onanuga for focusing on the audio instead of addressing the reported kidnapping of schoolchildren and teachers in Ogbomoso, Oyo State.
“You see this voice note, I will not defend it. Now they have mouth to talk, whereas bandits went to kidnap school children and teachers in Oyo State, where were they? It’s only stupid people that will believe that video,” he said.
VDM expressed sympathy for teachers affected by insecurity, stating that the issue is personal to him because his mother is a teacher.
