The Nigerian social media community has been thrown into mourning following the de.ath of popular TikTok content creator, Monique Pearls
Monique Pearls, whose real name was Monica Okafor Owuunaka, d!ed at the age of 30.
The Abuja-based creator, who hailed from Cross River State, was widely known for her emotional and relatable content on motherhood, family life and caregiving.
Her videos also featured a young girl identified as Precious, whom her family reportedly brought from the village.
The bond between Monique and Precious became one of the major themes of her online storytelling, drawing reactions from many followers who admired her family-centred content.
The post reads:
“It is with deep pain and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved wife, daughter, mother, sister, and friend, Monica Oma Owunaka.
“Monica was a beautiful soul whose love, kindness, strength, and presence touched so many lives. She brought warmth, joy, and light to everyone around her, and her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
“Words cannot fully express the depth of this loss or the pain of saying goodbye so suddenly. Though her time with us was far too short, the love she shared and the impact she made will never be forgotten.
“During this difficult time, we kindly ask for prayers, love, and strength for the family and everyone mourning this heartbreaking loss.”
She is survived by her husband and young son, Lael.
As of the time of filing this report, the family had not disclosed the cause of her de.ath
