Nollywood actress Doris Ogala has emerged as the governorship candidate of the African Action Congress (AAC) for the 2027 election in Abia State.

Ogala, who is known both for her acting career and for frequently making headlines over controversial remarks and public disputes, is taking a major step into partisan politics with her emergence as the party’s flagbearer.
The AAC was founded by activist and former presidential candidate Omoyele Sowore, who contested Nigeria’s presidential election on the party’s platform in 2019 and 2023.
The development has generated interest among many Nigerians, as Ogala is widely recognized not only for her work in the entertainment industry but also for her involvement in several public controversies over the years.
With the party now having a candidate in place, attention is expected to turn to Ogala’s plans for Abia State and how she intends to compete in the race for Government House in 2027.
