Legendary music executive Clive Davis has been admitted to a hospital in New York City after developing an upper respiratory infection.
A representative for the 94-year-old music industry veteran said doctors decided to keep him under observation as a precaution. According to the spokesperson, “he is expected to be released in the next 24 hours.”
Davis has remained one of the most influential figures in the music business for decades, helping launch and guide the careers of some of the industry’s biggest stars. He is also well known for hosting the annual pre-Grammy gala, one of the most anticipated events on the music calendar.
This is not the first health challenge Davis has faced in recent years. In 2021, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Bell’s palsy.
Over the course of his career, Davis played a key role in the success of artists including Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin and Kelly Clarkson. He also worked alongside Sean “Diddy” Combs in the early days of Bad Boy Records, helping shape one of hip-hop’s most successful labels.
