Concerns over insecurity have deepened in parts of Kogi State following the abduction of a woman and her toddler by arm£d men in Egbe, Yagba West Local Government Area.

The incident, which occurred on Wednesday evening, has unsettled residents of the Ijalu area, where locals say fear is becoming a part of daily life due to recurring att@cks.

Mrs. Idowu Kemi Titilayo and her little child were reportedly abd^cted by the att@ckers near the Solid Rock School axis after gu^men stormed the neighbourhood and created panic among residents.

Witnesses said the sound of gu^fire f0rced people indoors and sent others fleeing in different directions as the assailants carried out the operation.

“The terr%rists came suddenly and everybody started running. They were heavily armed and people could not confront them. They abd¥cted Mrs. Kemi and her little child and disappeared into the surrounding area before help could come,” the source said.

For many residents, the latest att@ck is another reminder of the security challenges confronting the area. Some community members expressed frustration, saying repeated incidents have left people uncertain about their safety.

One resident said the atmosphere in the community remains tense as families await news of the victims.

“This incident has created serious tension in the community. People are afraid because these att@cks are becoming too frequent. We are appealing to security agencies to act quickly and rescue the woman and her child,” another source said.

Residents are now urging security agencies to intensify surveillance and rescue efforts as concern grows over the fate of the abducted mother and child.
