Veteran Nollywood actor Pete Edochie recalled how an interview at his home in Enugu helped bring financial support to a colleague who was unwell.
He said he used the opportunity to appeal to the government to assist his colleague, and the money came shortly afterwards.
Speaking in an interview:
“I was interviewed in my house in Enugu. During that period, one of my colleagues was ill so I used that opportunity of the interview to call upon the government to come to his aid.
“The following week, The Government sent half a million naira to him. In the next six months I’ll be turning 80.
“I’m older than all the governors and president, so when I talk to them, it’s like a father talking to a son.”
As he approaches his 80th birthday in the next six months, Pete Edochie says his age puts him in a position where he relates to the country’s political leaders as an elder speaking to those younger than him.
