Heavy security presence was today sighted around the access routes to the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja
The heightened security comes amid plans by Omoyele Sowore to lead a protest march to the Presidential Villa over the continued ab.duction of schoolchildren in Oyo and Borno states.
Observers reported a strong presence of anti-riot personnel stationed at the main entrance of the State House, with officers forming security barricades and restricting access to authorised individuals only.

Those without valid State House identification were reportedly turned away as security officials maintained tight control around the premises.
On Wednesday, Sowore announced that members of the AAC and the Take It Back Movement would stage a protest from Eagle Square to Aso Rock under the hashtag #OccupyAsoRock, demanding the rescue of k!dnapped schoolchildren and other victims of a.bduction across the country.
He stated that the demonstration would call on President Bola Tinubu to ensure the safe return of the victims or step aside for failing to protect Nigerians.
Speaking ahead of the march, he said;
“You cannot claim to be president of Nigeria and then refuse to do the job of the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces. We are not here to beg anybody.
“We are just asking people who claim they are elected to protect Nigerians to do their work. It would have been great if the number of policemen preventing this march could instead protect our schools.”
He also appealed directly to security operatives, warning that insecurity could affect everyone regardless of status.
“Your children are also in schools. If the school becomes a ground for kidnapping, one day your children too will be kidnapped,” he added.
The planned protest follows growing public concern over the recent wave of school a.bductions and insecurity across parts of the country.
