Human rights activist and 2027 presidential candidate under (AAC) Omoyele Sowore has outlined parts of his campaign agenda.
He is promising that if elected, his administration would take immediate action on national challenges, particularly insecurity, from the very first day in office.
He said his approach would rely on a mix of technological solutions and long-term strategies, all deployed simultaneously rather than in phases.
“I’ll start growing electricity on the first day, we’ll be fighting to ensure that this security problem is resolved immediately, you know, using technology, using medium and long-term, whatever strategy we can use.”
Sowore also rejected the idea of celebrating the first 100 days of a presidency, describing it as disconnected from the urgency of the country’s situation.
“You are not going to see me on the, in fact, if anybody puts a newspaper advert celebrating my 100 days in office, I’ll find the person, hunt the person down, and make sure that you never do that nonsense again.”
He further said members of his cabinet would be expected to deliver results immediately, with no grace period for adjustment or delayed accountability.
“And if you are in my cabinet, you are fired on that day. That means you don’t have work for you to wait for 100 days before you are counting 100 days. People are already dying before they, you know, you are elected into office.”
He concluded that Nigeria’s problems require multiple coordinated solutions rather than a single fix, emphasizing simultaneous reforms across key sectors.
“So it’s going to be all of these starting at the same time because no one single solution can solve Nigeria’s problem. That would be a set of solutions,”.
