Peter Okoye, popularly known as Mr P and one half of the iconic music duo P-Square, has urged fans to stop comparing him with his twin brother Paul Okoye.
He stressed that he is focused on building his own path in the music industry.
The singer talked about how people often compare them, especially fans who look back at their time as a music duo.
According to him, he is now fully committed to his solo identity and prefers to concentrate on his personal journey rather than being measured against anyone else.
“Enough of the comparison, I’m on my own now, I’m doing my thing, everybody is doing fine, I just want to do my thing without looking away. I’m done,” he said. “I want to do me and be me, I want to sing my song and chop my money, there is no one like me.”
Peter Okoye, who performs under the stage name Mr P, has continued to maintain his solo career since the earlier split of P-Square in 2016, a period that saw both brothers pursue independent projects before later reuniting.
Over the years, both Peter and Paul Okoye have consistently attracted public attention due to their shared legacy as one of Africa’s most successful music groups.
Peter’s latest statement shows his desire to be seen as an independent artist, focusing on his craft and personal growth without external comparisons shaping public perception of his career.
